I got the first iphone shipped to Australia and loved it, I then bought the 3G because I did not have to worry about sim unlocking and jailbreaking anymore. I decided to go the 3GS but was concerned it could have been a waste of money. I used my friends 3G the other day and THANK GOD i upgraded. You dont notice the speed that much at first but when you go back to it as well as hold side by side it is massive. If I can get a speed change like that plus extra features and extra storage I dont give a stull if it looks the same I will get one.

Cool. :)

I just wish they could change the look or SOMETHING to make it interesting...

You do realize that multitasking is a big deal, right?

No? Of course not. You have no idea what the next iPhone will offer, so before you dismiss all of those interested in upgrading as 'fanbois,' why don't you wait and see?

Believe me, you'll see plenty of pissed off Apple buyers after Jobs announces it.

Hey I hope im wrong and I am surprised with something cool. To me multitasking is not a big deal. I can already listen to music from the 'ipod' part of it and go on facebook.....that is multitasking enough for me....Not like i write books on that lame mini keyboard and do 100 other things at the same time.....I don't even go on the internet on my phone because its so damn small it sucks. I mostly use my phone for the phone. (imagine that) and to text....and I love the ipod part of it. I do wish they would change the look of the phone though...why not... I saw that Polish guy testing 4.0 on youtube and the multitasking didnt blow me away....kind of neat but......not worth buying a whole new phone since you can run 4.0 on a 3g anyways

Hey there, im looking forward to seeing the new phone and no doubt will try and get hold of it as soon as i can, yeah i love my apple gear, i would like to see a new design, yeah i might be a little bored of the look of the iphone now but when i compare it to others phones, the build is a 1000 fold in better quality than theres, im deffo interested in the camera that will come with it, yeah its only 5mpx but hopefully the optics will be good and it will take a better photo.

As for the multitasking, im kinda with djsound, i had a play on the beta with mine and although it wasnt finished, yeah it worked well, but it didnt do nothing for me, no wow factor for me, thought it was a cool extra but not a headliner tho, i use my iphone 3gs all day every day, use the ipod, safari, mail, certain 3rd part apps and i have no complaints really, i am looking forward to mail tho, just to save keep flicking in and out of accounts but multitasking, is a not bothered from me

Form Factor Changes

One thing that I have serious concerns over is the form factor. Like many iPhone owners, I have a 3G/3GS dock and a Car Kit (Magellan). I also have a few clocks that have universal docks.

If they change the form factor, then upgrading means my dock becomes an expensive paperweight. Even worse, my car kit might not work, if it's really 1/4" taller as some rumors have suggested. Tom Tom kit owners won't be able to acommodate any change in height.

That's a significant replacement cost that might well push me away from Apple for my next phone.

I'm getting stoked. Can't wait to finally hear whether or not any other carrier will be getting the new one or whether I'll have to go to at&t.

That's one reason I bought the Magellan kit, because it opens taller than the Iphone. I think even if the Iphone is taller, it will be a very small amount taller. The pictures of the possible-new Iphone screen are not 1/4" (despite what some pictures said) - maybe 1/8", and the Magellan will definitely fit that with a squeeze. I'm iffy on that screen being legit.

I have serious doubts that Apple would change anything significant, visually, with the Iphone, when it has become so iconic as it is. It's also incredibly comfortable and feels very good in the hand. It seems likely that Apple is developing a very distinct look for each of their lines - shiny metallic aluminum for the Macbooks and iMacs, colored aluminum for the Nanos, polished metal back for the Ipods, a brushed metal look for the iPad, and the glossy black/white for the iPhone. I can see Apple wanting to maintain a clear distinction between all of them, especially with criticisms that the iPad is "just a large iPhone/Touch."

I really do hope they release it in June! Hopefully be on sale late june early July, and Apple, release INTERNATIONALLY at the same time!! Can't be doing with another long wait!

If the new hardware is as good as I hope, I am not waiting for the 4g next year, if not, then I will buy the ipad and wait...most of the people in my office are chatting about Verizon getting the iphone in June.

I strongly doubt that Verizon will get it this summer. It will probably be announced, but probably won't take effect until late summer or fall 2010. Not sure if that's what you meant.

WWDC 2010 June 21st-25th.

Just a guess mind you.:)

i would bet that it would be a pretty accurate guess, simply because there are no other functions listed for that week at the moscone centre. apple did, before, have a corporate event booked from the 23-24th, but that is now gone but that week in June still remains vacant. a little bit of trickery to throw off the rumour sites, but they must have an invisible hold on that week with the moscone center ($$$ cash bribe ;)
