Ok, it may be a little laggy, but Mountain Lion is sure going to fix the lag.

No, you're confusing your opinion with "Retina".Retina is a load of unnecessary bollox and is hugely over rated...
No, it's a rule. It'll have to cost higher because of premium feel to it, not so much because it's really that more expensive to manufacture it. So, better start sooner so prices can come down in a year or two.Why does the iMac need a retina display?? The current screen is awesome and the resolution works!. Look how much the new macbook pro with retina costs. On a 15" screen. To put that on a 27" screen will cost a bomb!! The iMac doesnt need this! Just release an updated version with Ivy Bridge, Nvidia and USB 3.0! job done. Next year when you have come up with a cost saving way of producing retina display then update. Also change the look then etc... do whatever you like with it! just just an updated iMac out with Mountain Lion....
i just want to chip in on the complaints. why this wait?
the only sensible reason must be a major update - otherwise they could easily have done what they did to the mac pro?
Damn, people still buy desktops these days? I went straight laptops the past 4 years and haven't missed a desktop yet.
I wish I had more disposable income. My G5 is still kicking and I can't convince my wife we need a new computer when my work gives me a Macbook Pro.![]()
Is the MacBook Pro for home/personal use also? If not, then that machine is totally irrelevant to your family life.
After many years of buying Apple desktops and laptops and waiting 5-6 years between purchases, when the price out of pocket was highest, I changed my strategy. I now try to upgrade every other version release while the resale value of the prior machine is still high. This way I'm always up to date and price out of pocket isn't as high.
How do you sell your used computer?? That's always my problem. I don't know where to find a buyer
