Try living where I live. Verizon's 3G looks blazing fast next to all my iPhone friends who couldn't find a bar of it if they walked into the middle of a parking lot. Doesn't really matter how fast the phone is if you can't use it's ability. Not to say it's an AT&T dead zone, but If my life was on the line and I needed 911 thank god i have verizon.

Well, here in Chicago AT&T is both more reliable in terms of calls and faster in terms of data than VZ, and I can do both at the same time

A lot of my friends have Verizon and they've been drooling over my iphone for 2 years now.
