This is really exciting... makes it seem like the release will be really soon. :D

Don't count on it... NAB is for Pro announcements, not education. Final Cut Studio 06 is almost definitely happening.

While I agree that NAB is for pros and Final cut 6 is happening TWO LARGE booths sure is a lot of space to show off a software package..

I think we "could" be in for a little surprise..

Can we say a showing of the new prototype MacStation along with new Displays coming soon ?

Will the MacBook definitely not be a "pro" item? I realize of course that the MacBook Pro is the "pro" item, but if it's meant to replace the 12" iBook, 14" iBook, and 12" PowerBook, then it seems like it might blur the lines a little. Maybe it'll come in low and high-end versions.

That's definitely true.

While ThinkSecret's street cred isn't as high as it used to be, they did have this interesting article back in January. Basically, if we trust ThinkSecret, we can expect a huge announcement:

* Final Cut Studio 06
* Final Cut Extreme - a third tier above the regular version
* DVD Studio Pro HD
* XServe RAID Extreme w/Dual Infiniband Links
* 40" Cinema Display
* Possible Special-Edition G5 Tower

That shouldn't have any problem filling up two booths.

EDIT: Whoops, forgot my main point. Apple will probably fill its booths with hardware, but it will be PRO hardware.

NAB would be perfect for introducing a 17" MacBook Pro. As to a prototype MacStation - don't count on it, because introducing it would kill G5 Sales immediately.

"Special Edition" G5? Um, that was the quad-core. 40-inch Cinema Display? Maybe. Final Cut Extreme? LOL.

Final Cut Extreme has already been rumored by the big rumor sites - FCE is meant to compete with expensive Avid options.

Although, why DVD Studio Pro HD? that's called DVD Studio Pro 4. I have it.

:p

clicky and clicky

Great news, hopefully this means we'll indeed be seeing the new MacBooks before too long. I would guess that we'll see them sometime in the next month, but what do I know... ;)

Let us not forget the 12 and 17 inch PowerBooks it is my understanding that the 12in. is considered a Pro laptop if the rumors are true about a MacBook replacing the iBook and 12in. PowerBook, the release is possible. We could also see new 17in. MacBook Pro systems. But, I really wish we could get some release dates from Adobe for Universal Apps.

Adobe has already provided a release date. It was announced about 3 weeks ago that CS3 would not be released until the second quarter of 2007, so you still have at least a year to wait. :cool:

You forgot Final Cut Express HD 2. I'm looking to dip my toes into video editing, so hopefully, Apple will release a universal version of FCE HD to run on my new MacBook.;)

Yeah, I doubt it will happen - as you say, another reason to use Boot Camp I guess! ;)

ugh... i don't like the idea of having to use windows to run programs at full speed! How about the emulation program?

Oh, well, another day, another Macbook Rumor.
We will start hearing rumors about the next event, soon, I guess

Somebody wake me when the first invites with a correct spelling start coming out.
