I'm about to buy a refurbished macbook and am decideding between 2 models.

The only differences i see is that the first has 2.53 GHz but bigger L2 cache and graphics memory. while the second has 2.66GHz.

they're are roughly the same price (the first one is €50 cheaper) but apparently before their discounted, refurbished price the first one was €350 more expensive.

which does it make sense to buy?

I don't use the computer for gaming - more for standard internet, movie, music stuff as well as programmes like Latex processors, STATA, MAtlab.

advice would be appreciated.

The 2.53GHz one doesn't have the 7 hour battery or the SD slot, but instead has a 4 hour battery and an Express card slot, so you might want to think about which of those features is more important to you.

Both are almost identical in specs, the reason why the 2.53 was more expensive is because its older and so at the time those specs cost more.

well as it now turns out the 2.53GHz model with the extra L2 has now been sold already so i won't be getting it.

Anyway i think the other option is probably better for my purposes. the 7 hour battery would be very useful.

thanks for the advice
