Yes - it's true, I could be the last person on this forum to be adding RAM to their MacBook Pro (or not!). But it is done! 4 GB RAM (with CAS 4, for no real reason except I want to!) has just been installed in my MacBook Pro! OWC came thru with flying colors. Join me in my happy dance!:p:D:apple:

    Congrats!
You will see a definite improvement in performance, especially if you run Windows too

this is why i say RAM is more important than the HDD. unless you get a SSD but they are pretty overpriced right now and still in their infancy

it depends on the pattern usage, if one is just browsing website, chats and listening to music, 2GB is more than enough, the 4GB will not make any difference, but for my usage using vmware fusion as my stock inventory app only runs in windows, illustrator cs4, and lots of apps running, really it's a speed boost.

i bought a corsair 128GB SSD, and my UMBP17" is blazing fast right now!
