I just got spammed recently by “Direct Message” on forum in large numbers since roughly 4 weeks ago. They uses the same style as the one I saw roughly a year ago. I have reported as many of those as I can, but wonder what is happening.

Any unwanted message should be reported. A spammer can make an account, post a few innocent looking posts, then access the private conversation system to spam users individually. It's just another spam method, but it's particularly irritating because it targets users directly via their inboxes.

This is sad. I guess I will have to deal with it for now. Thanks Annk.

It would be nice if we could have a restriction similar to the PRSI, where members have to be here longer then one month and maybe up the post count requirement. I could be wrong, but I think most new members don't quickly jump into private messaging other members as soon as they sign up, so raising the bar will further weed out those spammers.

An excellent idea, and one which has my complete support.
