Apple lists the max memory for a MBP 17" as 2Gb (2 x 1GB)
Has anyone tried 4GB (2 x 2GB) of memory?

Any thought as to if this would work (i.e. does the chipset support > 2GB)

I would like to replace a Dell w/2GB with a MBP 17" and use Parallels to
run Windows, but have one critical application than needs at least 2GB
to run at a decent speed. And more is always better.

Boot camp is always an option, but I not really a fan of booting the machine in one mode or another.

Thanks for any thought you may have.

Robert

No, I have not seen any credible evidence it has been tried, The only 2 Gb SODIMMs available are something like $1300 each. Me, I'm not THAT curious...
