Is there an ability to have more than one user in iOS8 in an iPad Air?

It's a software feature that's coming at some point. Only issue now is RAM and storage. 16GB as base models is waaaaaaay too small for this. 1GB of RAM isn't much too, but it works for now.

16GB? You are referring to the iPhone? Im mostly interested in iPads :)

He meant that storage is not up to par with multi-user requirements. A proper multi-user system on any device means separating user data/actions/storage and the like.. and this is going to require much more storage space in order to be feasible. There is also a need to protect the data of one user from the eyes of other users.

Why are RAM and storage the issue? It's all about permissions and setting up a profile for each user. The older Nooks had this with very meager hardware. It's really just Apple's willingness to include the feature. I'm sure they'd rather have each person buy their own iPad.

Lack of storage or RAM are not the issues. Android tablets with only 1 GB or RAM and 16 GB storage have supported multiple users since Android 4.3, I think. It's just another arbitrary iOS restriction. Apple sees iPads as single user devices, so that's all they allow for.

Apple want people to have a device each they aren't going to facilitate multiple people using 1 device.
