I go to the internet to circumvent TV and radio

OR

Apple: where theres hope on the internet, theres a way to monopolize it for the benefit of oligopoly.

I don't get how MTV would team up with Apple if MTV is creating a rival store. I'm so gonna download Punk'd though. When I ever get money. LOL

They should add Daria, and I don't think it's fair that international customers get no iTVS. If any international people want, they can paypal me $15 (+paypal fees, so like $16.50) and I'll buy them an iTunes $15 card for them to enjoy the video store.

Just PM me.

I wish SNL was available the day after it aired.
Perhaps ala cart skits for 99 cents, or $2.99 for the whole show?
It should include the musical acts, but that may create some legal hassles.

My sentiments exactly. I've downloaded a couple of the Pixar shorts and that's pretty much exhausted the selection for the UK iTMS. There was suggestions that Apple was going to get the BBC involved but looks like that either isn't happening or is taking much longer to sort out. That the US is getting access to more content is great and all but a lot of users are missing out here. That I can't simply buy from the US iTMS is considerably annoying since I actually want to do so.

it's annoying me more than you. :p

you me "à la carte", maybe? not ala cart?

Nick, MTV, Comedy Central means Paramount is on board.

Although distribution rights aren't always obvious, this could indicate we'll soon be seeing the likes of "Star Trek," "7th Heaven," "Dr. Phil," "JAG," "Medium," and "Frasier."

Disney/ABC, Universal/NBC and now Paramount are now in. Still waiting on Warner Brothers ("ER"), CBS ("CSI") and Sony ("Seinfeld"). Jerry Bruckheimer just had a celebrity playlist last week, so I think we may be getting more new content soon.

EDIT:

Oh, and Fox ("American Idol").

sweet add ons, Comedy Central and Spongebob are not that bad.

NOW BRING ME FOX! FAMILY GUY!

WB would rock too b/c of Smallville/Cartoon Network content (Justice League/Teen Titans)

Seriously though, why hasn't NBC added "My Name is Earl"

Ok, that's it! I officially hate iTunes and Apple!!!!
I have been tempted to start getting Monk after the free episode and then they start offering Beavis and Butthead and Southpark!!! I only have so much money!!!
Apple stop taking my money!!!!

Yeah, that Monk episode owned me. I got my bro-in-law to gift me some free stuff from the US so I could set up a US account sans credit card.

David

The what star?

For a minute there it looked like iTunes was going to help revive the public's interest, but I think this recent shift in iTunes/iPod emphasis may just make it official:

Video has indeed killed the radio star.

A lot of NBC's shows are owned by someone else.

"Earl" is produced by Fox.
"ER" is produced by WB.
"Scrubs" is produced by ABC.
"Medium is produced by Paramount.

As far as I know, all of the currently running shows that have come out on iTunes are produced and distributed by the same house, like "Lost" (ABC) and "The Office" (NBC) and all of the cable shows.

That's a lot of new content! I'd be willing to buy a few episodes of Punk'd. It's one of the very few shows I can actually enjoy on MTV. It's good to see SpongeBob on board too. :p

Ok, so where's Scrubs? :D

Comedy central stand up, Yahoo! Waiting for Pablo Francisco, Stephen Lynch, The Roasts, Lisa Lampanelli.:)

The Viacom/MTV stuff is a bit peculiar:confused:
Perhaps Viacom is being smart by keeping all its options open....

Also, perhaps some of the non US MR members could set up some kind of exchange program in one of the threads to access the content they want? Is it legal?

Bmw!!!!

If Boy Meets World becomes available, I am running to the Apple store and buying a nice, shiny video iPod :D I hope, that is my favorite show EVER!!!!! I'd prob buy them in iTunes even though I am buying the seasons on DVD, less hassle to get them on the iPod.

so they offer MTV content after all; does it mean the URGE thing is still born ?

...also, join my name to the list of non US unhappy Mac fans that cannot enjoy the iTVS revolution...

That's the first thing I thought of - I was shocked to see MTV on there...they have been in bed with M$ since last year CES and I'm sure before. I guess they live double lives and are already doubting M$'s ability to compete. Great TV upgrade BTW...Gotta love new content, hopefully this is only a teaser of things to come :D

Like many others, I'll be anxiously waiting for Fox to come on board...

This is great news though regardless, great to see the Store expanding like this. :)

Who knows. I do know that one of the big holdups with "Scrubs" coming out on DVD was music rights, but I would have assumed that those issues got worked out with the foresight of digital downloads.

I assumed Apple and the networks were staggering out these releases to maximize marketing impact and highlight certain shows as they come out, but then here comes MTV with basically everything at one time.

Who knows.
