Am I the only one who feels this way??? After spending a couple of bucks to convert all my cables, now I'm running out of ports. I'm using one for power, one for iPhone, one for my external sound card and another for display and I can't plug in any more devices. And most hubs out there only provision one USB-C port for every port they take up. I got a Hyperdrive and that takes up 2 ports and give you two ports. Are there any hubs out there that give you more USB-C ports?

Lol it is ironic that most USB-C hubs focus on providing legacy ports other than extra USB-C ports.

As opposed to the Hyperdrive, which uses 2 ports at USB-3.1 to provide some bandwidth. It might be worth investing in a proper Thunderbolt 3 dock. This will give you full speed over a single cable, but they are more expensive.

Does the display not have any ports (If it's a USB-C one)? One of the main advantages with USB-C is daisy chaining, so you can run multiple things down a single cable. Otherwise could you do with a separate hub? As in the Hyperdrive connects directly to the MBP making it a little finicky, if you got a cabled one and sat it under the desk with permanent things attached it'd be easier to work with maybe.

I've just had a good luck and honestly can't fine any, but I'd be interested too if anyone does find one. I think probably it's because USB-C is basically a multi-port in of itself, and can be converted to any other standard. So they are making breakaway boxes for this. As opposed to simply making pure USB-C hubs.

Mine is an old monitor so I am using a USB-C to DVI converter. I could change it over to the HDMI-DVI on the hyperdrive but that still leaves me with one spare port which I have use for.

USB-C daisy chaining is one way to go but with a 4k monitor plugged in, most of the other ports won't have enough bandwidth for other peripherals. Thunderbolt hubs give you the bandwidth, but still are limited in the number of USB-C ports they give.

What I am looking for maybe is 1 Thunderbolt hub with 4 or more USB-C/Thunderbolt ports so it takes care of everything and I can also stow it behind and reduce wire clutter on my table.

Shouldn't this be a non-issue when daisy chaining devices through Thunderbolt 3? As for pure USB-C devices, I haven't seen a small hub that provides plenty of ports like we're used to on USB-A, but that sure would be a nice accessory.

You are not alone. I'm ready to purchase a USB-C hub with many USB-C ports.

Yeah, but daisy chaining usually provides only one extra port per device and doesn't really increase the number of USB-C ports, so you need to keep daisy chaining if you want more ports which is confusing and expensive.
I found this thing, but I don't know if its available where you are located:

How about this

Just go Back to usb A cables for some of your peripherals use hdmi for the screen and bobs your mothers brother.
Yeah, something like those, but with more USB-C ports per device, that way you don't need to daisy chain to get more ports.

You still have the old usb A cables surely? Why worry about usb c you said you swapped cables to use with the mbp just swap back to use with the dongle.

A USB C splitter with just two Thunderbolt inputs would be great! I want to use one port on the iMac for my 4k TV at 60Hz and the other one split to run a 2K monitor at 60hz and data connection 3.1 gen 1 or 2 (preferably 2) for a hard drive. I can hub the USB 3.0 for all my other needs.

Anyone know of a hub/splitter that can do this?

No, you're not alone.

1) It's mind boggling that 30+ months after the MB release, there doesn't appear to be a single multi-port USB-C hub on the market

2) This is a perfect example of where Apple drops the ball again and again. At least until there's a number of third-party solutions, Apple should have offered and Apple-branded one (and that can be said about many adapters and cables). USB-C is AWESOME - but Apple is often their own worst enemy.
