I feel like the most concerning part of all the reviews is how the Apple Watch was how The Verge described the watch and the band as feeling like they were not made for each other. They said that the watch feels like a separate unit just plopped on your wrist. Does this concern anyone else?

Did any other reviews beside the Verge say this? Did the Verge ever say this about the Moto 360?

Watches are sort of clunky in general aren't they?

I mean, there are super light Casios, that are pretty much one piece.

The bigger ones are going to give some feedback I would think (never worn one myself. A big one that is)

I'd be concerned if all the reviews were like that. The Verge review had its pluses and minuses and that was just one man's opinion.

The Apple Watch really is meant to be tried before purchase. It's something they need to sell you. It should be fitted to your wrist. The trained employee should talk you through its use. You should get a few minutes to find the watch package that suits you best (that you can afford).

What we are doing preordering sight unseen is wackadoodle. What the reviewers have to do, accept a watch and bands chosen for them and made to write a review after a few days is not ideal either.

None of the other reviews said that.
And, not to be catty, but the fashion bloggers they consulted were dressed pretty bland.
I mean, if actual fashion magazines like Vogue are featuring the watch, it's going to be fashionable.

That part of the Verge's review was specifically said by fashion bloggers; they were talking about how from a fashion point of view, you had this nice band with a separate thing unlike the band on it. So yes, if you are extremely fashion-conscious, that might concern you. Me, I personally think the watch looks just fine, especially the Space Black SS, so I am unconcerned (and if shown that combination, I think the fashion blogger would have said something different since they do match then).

No other reviewer said that. Joanna Stern said the Sport band was a little difficult to put on, but she loved the Milanese Loop band. Gruber said that the Sport band felt "luxurious" to him (which he was not expecting).

Flame on brother!! For someone that's not interested and thinks the watch will flop you're spending a lot of time and energy posing here!

He doesn't want it to succeed. He admittedly said that it would make him extremely happy if it failed because he doesn't like Tim Cooke. He's trying so hard to do his part in making that happen, that every little nuance about the watch flares his rather immature cynicism. Don't pay it any mind.

I didn't care for their review.

But they_are_right about stylish bands connected to a fat lopsided watch.

I disagree, everyone is entitled to their opinions which keep the forum interesting and filled with a wide variety of Apple enthusiasts.

To attack and condemn, as you are doing reveals more about you than the poster. Why be so serious and take it personally....

This is a great forum that benefits from the diverse opinions.

In the 2 seconds it took for this thread to load, I was thinking that this is going to be the least concerning part.... the thread did not disappoint.

Some stupid woman that knows nothing about it and had it in her hand for 1min said that. She also had to say something because she was asked a question, she said whatever she could come up with on the spot. If you watch the video review you can see him ask these random 'fashion' people about it...give me a break, what a completely meaningless and stupid thing to do in a review. You can tell the women have NO IDEA what to say, like the one woman stutters over her words and comes up with something that she 'thinks' it 'may' or on the other hand 'may' not do at all. It's just a pathetic review through and through.

Haha yeah, women are so dumb and I can't believe they let them into our Apple reviews.

No, it wasn't an opinion of mine. I'm not attacking him lol. He literally said that in another forum post. I kid you not.

Before he said that, I valued that he was solid in his opinion, but I couldn't respect or find anything he said to be valid after that statement.

Didn't the Verge also say they didn't like the milanese loop? That would be the first complaint about that band that I've seen.

Haha oh yes because my comment automatically meant all women are dumb!! Don't place prejudice where there isn't any. It was the best way to point out someone other than the reviewer was giving random opinion about the product which shouldn't be in a review. An intelligent reviewer would try at all costs to ELIMINATE opinions and be 100% objectively stating facts about the product.

It is a pathetic review but it's out there and getting a lot more attention than it deserves. Hence why I think Apple screwed up with who they gave review units to. Rene Ritchie doesn't get a review unit but Nilay Patel does? Ok I don't doubt the Verge gets more page views than iMore. But does Apple want a lot of page view of a crappy review? Whereas we know with Rene Ritchie it would have been a more thoughtful review. Yeah probably a bit more biased to the positive but isn't that what Apple wants/needs right now?

He said he'd be embarrassed to wear it. Which is hilarious since the one watch blog I read emphasized how cool and classic that band is.

Did you notice he also said his mechanical watch battery died a long time ago and he hasn't replaced it but still wears the watch because it is cool? Hard to take his opinion seriously after that...

Did he say why? I'd be curious to know since no one else with hands on time has reallh said anything similar.

This is the same guy (Nilay Patel) that's wearing a spiky dog collar bracelet on his left wrist. Take what he says with a grain of salt. :p

From watching and reading his review, my broad-brush conclusion was the opposite: dudes wearing a spiky dog collar bracelet are more honest than than those who aren't. :D
