I’m guilty to contributing to Mario kart , love the game! Hands-down the best game of the year.

ok,,, I can understand social apps being the most downloaded,, even throwing Youtube in there seems good as well,, but "Fecetune" ??

I had to check it was not a typo,, and confused with Facetime...

Talk about throwing a curve ball..

The fact that FaceTune (which I didn't know existed until now) is a top download just saddens me. I was hoping this generation of teenagers would be less concerned with modifying their appearance.
I believe this officially signals the end of the world. Not just as we know it.

Nintendo did well with giving in to the pressure of the mobile market.

Looking at these lists, shows people are not missing much staying with android.

I believe these lists pretty much look identical across platforms.

the worst mario kart version ever

I wonder how many of the downloads have never even been played.
The first thing it does is ask to create a Nintendo account. Given the bad reviews, I never bothered to continue …

The download count is really a terrible metric to give away awards for. Especially since the game could be "pre-ordered" before reviews were in.

People now have access to all the world's knowledge; they can learn all the languages in the world; they can travel and learn geography at the tip of their fingers; they can follow instantly what's happening on this planet; etc... and the apps that are the most successful are childish games or games to train people to kill people.

Tangent warning: Minecraft. Is there a manual or something that gives the idea of the game? I'm stuck digging holes. FOMO?

Apologies for the interruption. Carry on...

This seems like a pretty good place to start: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Beginner's_guide

But overall the first idea of the game is to survive the first night or two. After that, it's really about exploration, building, and discovering the things you can make with the deep crafting system.

Ugh. Dark Sky is a horrible weather app. It's pretty alright, but is horrible for actual weather. Hyperlocal weather through the app is a gimmick.

Yeah I bought Dark Sky several months back (based on all the recommendations), mainly to use on my Apple Watch. It was super buggy, and the complication often didn’t work. Stopped using it after a few weeks. Money poorly spent.

It’s really a shame that Minecraft doesn’t support KB and mouse (especially on iPadOS) :(

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I have a few Raspberry Pi's, and it's one of the games supported. (TANGENT: Nice little single board systems)
