If you have the Developer Tools installed you can fix this yourself using Interface Builder. Load up the Browse Device NIB file and modify the button's tooltip.

Of course it would be much better if Apple just fixed it proper though for a future release :)

PM me if you would like a repaired version.

thanks for the advice i will have a try at fixing it

i told apple about it, so lets see if they pay any attention to it!

Nooooooo!

How could Apple DO this to us? Do they not run QC checks on their software before delivering it to millions of Mac users?

It's bugs like these that ensure Microsoft's dominance-- bigger, richer companies would never have things like this go wrong! They just have viruses that cripple the entire system... but this is an AESTHETIC ISSUE that Apple REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE!

Boycott Activity Monitor until Apple acknowledges their grevious error!

lol, I can't keep a straight face anymore :)

I just wrote a letter, not the email kind, the kind that gets transported by the post office and shock jocks. It goes like this:

"Dear the last two minutes of my time:
I know that I'll probably never see you again. You will be missed.
..."

I then went on to talk about the mess the dog made in the house yesterday.

Seriously, I thought the 99% charged portable Macs that never charge up tp 100% anymore issue was the most insignificant issue ever. I know a couple of people at my university that would be as peeved as hell with the "," and the "." mishap. For some reason, my economics professor comes to mind...

Damn, I don't get the bug! :D

my activity monitor shows all of them with , I wanted to see the . , thing :p
Is your computer European?

If I go to:
System Preferences > International > Formats
then change Region to, say Belgium, then quit and relaunch Activity Monitor, I see only commas.

The bug is when Region is on United States (and other countries that use a . for a decimal point). Is it called a decimal point (or something similar when translated) when it is a , ?

Speaking of which, what does the nice %age measure?
Launch terminal and type: man nice

Basically, if your computer is running something on nice memory, it is running it at low priority, so other applications can readily preemt it. For example, you can run the command-line of SETI@Home in nice mode so that it won't get in your way while you're trying to use your computer for other things.

Though if you do this on an iMac G5, it'll make your blowers run pretty hard (since the CPU will be working hard).
