Apple opened pre-orders for the iPad mini 6 right after last week's "California streaming" event, with first orders arriving this Friday, but anyone who is waiting for the reviews to come in before they order one will likely have a wait on their hands, as estimated delivery times for many variants have since slipped into November in the U.S. and select other countries.

Screen-Shot.jpg

For example, for a 256GB Wi-Fi iPad mini in Pink, Apple's website gives a 3-4 week shipping estimate, while estimates lengthen to 4-6 weeks for the same capacity in Starlight or Purple. Most variants are available in 4-6 weeks, with 3-4 weeks being the earliest delivery estimate.

As with every Apple product launch, it is possible that lengthy delivery estimates are a result of low supply rather than high demand. However, the iPad mini was arguably the standout product in Apple's event, thanks to its 8.3-inch display and chassis redesign in the vein of the iPad Air.

The new iPad mini is also the only iPad with Apple's latest A15 Bionic chip, and like the iPad Pro, includes a 12-megapixel Ultra Wide front camera enabling Center Stage, so there's good reason for iPad mini fans to be excited again.

Review embargos for the iPad mini 6 lift later today, so be sure to check back here on MacRumors for a full reviews roundup.

Apple is only selling the HomePod (mini) in about 16 countries. Easy logistics.

I'll receive the new iPad mini this Friday.

Supply chain must be really tight. Hopefully can pick one up at a local store.

I don't think Apple is really short on supply. They just make it an artificial scarcity by pushing out the estimated delivery times. This causes people to want to order it now to get it sooner. Then when Apple ships it a little bit earlier than that to the customer, the customer gets the warm and fuzzies for getting it "early".
I do think Apple tends to try and underpromise-overdeliver with shipping, but that doesn't mean things aren't getting backed up order-wise.

I ordered the Space Grey 64gb a couple days ago and the delivery date is mid/late-October. I kept debating about color, and ultimately went with what matches every other device I own except my iPhone.

I think the old design is nicer, hear me out, the bezels are hugeeeee in the new mini the old one had very slim side bezels and now it’s taller and narrower it just looks strange the bezels are a distraction
Slim side bezels and gigantic top and bottom ones--and people complained about that too. People like you are never satisfied.

I just read that in Donald Trump's voice.

Also the bezels aren't huge. They are about half than the width of your thumb. Which is handy becuase you need two hands in order to use it.

Ordered two iPad mini 6, Wi-Fi & 5G Cellular, 256GB models at the starting gun (Lavender for the wife replacing a V3 mini and the Starlight for me replacing a V5 mini). They will deliver to our home on this Friday, 24 Sept. I will pick up the two Apple mini Smart folios at one Apple store after picking up my silver iPhone Pro Max 1TB at another Apple store first earlier on the same Friday. Also, we will receive a personalized Pencil v2 for the wife on Friday. I already have the V2 pencil for my iPad Pro 11 M1 2TB from it's first release date so will use it between the two devices.

Based upon my experience over the many years as an early adopter, the three new devices will require at least upgrading the operating systems before being able to restore from the existing older equipment.

So you think having huge bezels and home bar is better than slim bezels and bigger screen width side
I think your vision of "huge" is slightly exaggerated? Huge would be what the top and bottom bezels are on the old/current mini. The new Mini looks much fresher and more with the current times. Looks very close to my iPad pro. Most will like this new version much better. Hence the strong sales.

Exactly. I think it looks awesome.
