If I didnt Get an 11" M1 iPad Pro, I'd be all over this.

I still like my mini 5 though, and having a device that is a blast to the past in form factor so... undecided for now.

I think your vision of "huge" is slightly exaggerated? Huge would be what the top and bottom bezels are on the old/current mini. The new Mini looks much fresher and more with the current times. Looks very close to my iPad pro. Most will like this new version much better. Hence the strong sales.
It might have thinner bezels, but due to the screen size it looks huge. It looks more like a first generation iPad than the pro.

So you think having huge bezels and home bar is better than slim bezels and bigger screen width side
I think so -- the bezels make it easier to hold. The old mini had a way huger top and bottom bezels and I used them to hold the tablet, but they're gone now and one thing that irritates me the most about tiny bezels and full screen devices (and notches!) is inadvertent touches.

And no, I don't want the old top and bottom bezels back. While I like buttons on things, that old home button was ridiculous.

I think the old design is nicer, hear me out, the bezels are hugeeeee in the new mini the old one had very slim side bezels and now it’s taller and narrower it just looks strange the bezels are a distraction

Did Apple increase the side bezels? If you look at pics of the 5 and 6 side by side it almost looks like they did, but internet pictures aren't really reliable.

They did, yeah. If you use the Apple Pencil in the screenshots as a measurement against the size of the bezels, the side bezels are definitely larger on the iPad Mini 6. That said, I do not mind the increase in size, with the increase in performance, reduction of the top and bottom bezels, Apple Pencil 2 support, USB-C, etc.

Hmm, I was wondering about that, the bezels all around still look fairly thick, I suppose they did that to balance everything out. Personally I like smaller bezels, and I have fat/large hands. The Fold 2 had virtually no bezels, but I never found myself having an issue with that.

Supply is not constrained anywhere other than Apple through the shipping channel only.

Don’t buy into this narrative

what....A purple iPad?? I guess the color doesn't have to matter
Why not -- Apple has always had a thing for color and that's fine by me. And yes, I ordered the purple. :)

Some people really really get sick of black, silver, and white -- the world is full of colors to use.

I regret almost never going for another color option, but it's always come down to resale value (or, rather, ease/speed of being able to resell) since some of the color options are so taste specific. I also like all my products to match, and since the colors can differentiate by not just device but by the generation of that device, which means I might not be able to find the same purple across numerous products.

That's a plus for me. :)

As for resale, it's not something I do. I either put it in the pile of machines I don't use anymore, but might need some parts off of them, or I see someone who needs it and give it to them. I usually keep machines far to long to expect any kind of decent resale value. I replaced almost all my important stuff this year, which is very unusual and I already put one 2020 machine in the pile.

We really do have different needs, so I definitely like that there's a choice.
