So for the past week or so I've noticed the shuffle on my phone has been heavily repeating songs (I always have it shuffle all songs). Last night I took a look, and the music on my phone has gone from circa 5000 songs to about 500. I'm on a 6 Plus (64GB).

Some albums have gone completely. Others have one or two songs only.

My phone had a mixture of stuff copied from iTunes on my Mac (using "manually manage"), and some downloaded via Apple Music directly to the phone. The missing music is from both sources. I'm not aware that I've done anything to cause this.

Is this normal? Do I now have to spend a couple of hours shackled to my Mac to copy it all back on again (followed by finding all the ones on Apple Music)?

Bloody annoying!

sounds like you made some changes to your iTunes and what syncs and then the phone synced and those changes (deleting music) was applied.

This isn't the case - my phone has been nowhere near the computer in over a year, and wi-fi sync is disabled.

What I had to do to fix it was connect it to the computer, then it told me that music was ICloud managed. So I turned that off on the phone (which removed all downloaded songs) and then all my music synced back again via iTunes. Then in order to download some music back from Apple Music I had to re-enable ICloud Library on the phone again.

I don't know why this has to be so complicated. Why do I have to enable iCloud Music Library in order to download stuff from Apple Music??

I have had issues with the Music app this week as well. One of my entire playlists that was downloaded on the phone just disappeared. I was able to get the list back but had to download all the music again. I then noticed other random music missing.

The music app is buggy as hell.

This just happened to me a few hours ago.

Today i went to access my music from my iPhone 7 and noticed 95% of my library was missing from the Music app.
Ive got about over 15,000 songs which are uploaded to the iCloud + iMatch and had about 3,000 approx. physicaly downloaded to my iPhone's internal storage.
Checked my usage for memory for Music and it was only showing 107 songs with 924mb taking up the storage now :(

I haven't touched any settings or changed anything and haven't hooked up/synced my phone to my computer for a while now either.
I quickly checked all my other devices iPads,Macbook Pro, Windows PC and my iTunes library is all the same perfect on those devices but for some strange reason on my iPhone it auto deleted my songs and even wouldn't show them in the listing like to stream from the iCloud.

So far i went into Settings -Library-iCloud Music Library and switched it off and then back on again and all of a sudden my songs/artist/playlists started to populate in the Music app again as they originally were but its showing i have to download everything again now. All previous downloaded music is completely gone :(

Did anyone manage to find the cause for this yet?
