Looking at the pre-order site, Pacific Blue shipping windows slipped, then Graphite. Silver and Gold not sure, but they have equivalent shipping windows.

They make less units in the different color. Same last year with that ugly green. Sells out fast, not because it’s the most popular but because Apple is making less of them.

Do you know this as fact, or merely your assumption. Apple knows every time a new color drops, it ends up outselling traditional colors. Why would they choose not to prepare for that.

Most people opt for normal colors. But people talk about the different colors because they're new. Look around and anywhere you go and you'll see, grey and silver are like 90% of the iPhones you see. Some gold, some of the different colors. Also, a lot of corporations that provide iPhones to employees only buy grey or silver, the colorful ones aren't an option.
