Whoa, deep man...

Of course, one could argue that because of its very nature, one cannot own freedom. :p ;)

I know what you mean.

I think this thread separates the smart people, or people of average intelligence, from the dumb.

The people who keep putting things like "my girlfriend," "my family," "my health," "freedom," etc, simply don't understand what is going on. At all. If you honestly still believe that the OP isn't asking you about your most prized physical object you bought and own, or object you got as a gift, then you should re-read this thread. And please don't put "sense" down as a prized possession of yours, as it would be a lie.

Sorry, but I've seen a lot of "slow" people around here recently, and sometimes I don't know whether they're just joking around, or serious.

Abstract- i'm as serious as your tagline... :D

"I love Pooh. I love the way Pooh looks. I love squeezing Pooh in my hands --- the soft, warm feeling of Pooh. Mmmmmm.........Pooh. I know many people think Pooh smells quite bad, but I enjoy it. Some people love the smell of freshly baked bread on a winters day, and I find the smell of Pooh to be irresistible.

I hope everyone wakes up Christmas day with a soft, warm Pooh in their hand."

My car is my most prized possession (Audi TT quattro Coupe') I just love that thing. I own it now for 2.5 years and it still puts a smile on my face.
...and I have to admit second would be my iBook even though it will be replaced with an intel PB. (as soon as they are available)

Do my cats count? :p I do 'own' them...
<evil cat laugh>BWOOAAAAHAHAHAHA!!!!</evil cat laugh>

Well your cats have got you just where they want you. You feed them, clean up after them, they choose whether to show you any displays of affection, they'll pander to your feelings to get what they want then walk away as soon as they've got it AND you'll love 'em for it. Yup, you 'own' them... :p

I wanna be a cat when I come back.

Probably my wee iPod Mini :)

I had a 3rd Gen 20gb iPod, but I feel it was a bit of a waste 'cos of all that storage (I had like 130 songs), so I bought a shuffle, but I hated having to skips to songs I liked etc (I detested it in fact) so I bought a Silver iPod Mini, (4gb) and it's a nice size and has worked flawlessly. I also bought an iSkin for it (which is also fantastic).

I use it every day (bus to work, train to uni and sometimes at night).

Secondly, I'd say my awards I've got from high school for being the top in maths, computing and physics and also being runner up to the Dux (something latin which basically means how I scored in my 5th year of highschool came out 2nd top of everyone in the year). I don't mean to sound as if I'm bragging but they mean a lot to me because of the sense of achievement they represent.

Thirdly, my internet connection. I don't think computers are complete without internet.

Anything that was given to me as a gift. They just feel like connections to people :)

Beyond that, my computer. My growing book collection (I believe it's at around 150 books right now) also gives me a certain amount of joy :p

Books are wonderful to have, whether you've read them or no. I love reading, but I also love the feel of a book (pick up a book from Sun and Moon Press if you don't know what I'm talking about), the sense of waiting (delay?) that lurks about the unread books on my shelf.

Walter Benjamin has a great essay ("Unpacking My Library") on being a bibliophile. He mounts a great defense against those fools who argue that books are only for reading ...
