Hey, im looking for an extra lightning cable. right now i use an Belking lightning cable and charger. i know they are famous for being very relaible. which other brands follow ? :)

Anker, ZeroLemon, RAVPower make some very well made cables. Personally, my favorites are the Anker Powerline ones. Those are very well made.

+1 for Anker cables. I haven't had any personally but I've heard they are great. Ive only have one Lightning cable fail on me since 2012 so I used only the OEM ones.

Buy the small micro usb to lightning adapter. Those never break plus getting a new micro usb cable is a lot cheaper and there are lots of different lengths available too.

This is the cable I recommend everyone. It's been the most reliable and sturdy so far.

Belkin also has a 4 inch cable. Very useful to just toss in your bag and forget about it, until you need one and hey -- there it is :)

Is that really the prevailing opinion? My experience has been that my Apple branded cables have survived much better than those of other brands.

I also had the same experience. Apple stuff seems to last a long time.

My problems with 3rd party cables, other than them coming apart sometimes is that occasionally my iPhone or iPad will refuse to charge with them or stop charging halfway. Then I wake up and my phone is at 40% instead of 100%. Bummer! Never happens with Apple cables.

Also, you can buy Apple cables cheap online via eBay or deal sites like DailySteals (which occasionally sells them for under $10 a pop). I have also accumulated a ton of Apple cables since every time you get a new device you get another one. After a few generations of iPads, iPhones, etc. for people in my house hold we have plenty to go around haha.

Yup, gotta agree with this as well.

Though this definitely doesn't happen with the Belkin cables. But then again, these are about as expensive as the original Apple ones.

They are severely overpriced at $19.00 (at least at the Apple store) and there are better, more durable options out there

I still have EVERY Apple branded cable that I've ever owned and they still work like they just came our of the box so I'm not sure that durability is a problem with Apple cables. I'm not saying that there aren't other good cables (I do like Belkin and StarTech) but Apple does make quality products.

I stick with Belkin and Apple then xD Had great experinces with Belkin over the years. i agree with all of you, they are very relaible :)

I've been using this braided cable for a bit and really like it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0194PHUZY

It's $11 on Amazon and MFi certified. Also, it's braided nylon but it feels like metal.

I've been using an Amazon basics cable and an Anker cable and they both seem to be better quality than OEM cables (which rip at the tip)

I've always just used the Apple ones because I never really needed extras, but I just bought a 9' Anker for the bedroom and it came today and wow it's THICK compared to Apple's, seems very well built, better than Apple I would say.
