most reliable brand in External TB hard drives??

I need to buy a TB external hard drive. Can anybody tell what they think is the best brand based on their experience (and not on what they've heard from others)?

Assemble your own. If a canned drive fails, you cannot disassemble it to determine if its the controller (usually) or the drive. You have to send it - and all your data - in for warranty work.
