Everyone saying how this is the minor update to S6. That’s nonsense. This feels like the largest and most significant upgrade ever. That screen is just gorgeous and huge. When you see it in person you will understand. Very very happy with S7 so far. Now if they could only upgrade the battery life.

I agree. The larger screen is fantastic. Also I have noticed just how quick the Watch pairing process is in comparison to the S6. It may be the same processor but they have definitely done some performance tweaks

i wouldn't call trimming the bezels down as the most significant upgrade.

would you consider a 2020 13in macbook pro to a 2021 14 in macbook pro with the same exact internals a significant upgrade?

Probably not, but I think the difference is with a watch, the screen is the most important part, whereas, with a mac, the internals/ports/keyboard/trackpad matter a lot more

I’m coming from a Series 5, it feels so much faster/smoother. The Memoji watch face would always make my watch slow down/freeze. I haven’t had that happen on the 7 yet. The brighter display is nice too.

I'm all excited for the bigger screens since they were announced in the keynote. The bezels in lighter or colorful watch faces always bothered me a lot. So I always stuck to black ones. I upgrade each year, but this year I'm more excited than before.

I’ve had every Apple Watch since 2015 and for the first time ever…I’m using the calculator on my watch. With the larger buttons it is finally usable for me. I just gave it the lower right complication in my “Workday Face”. It’s quicker to open the calculator on my watch than my iPhone.

That’s not fair. You know when the iPhone reduced it’s bezels it was all everybody talked about. I don’t even use MacBooks any more. I’m all iPad.

Apple watch screen is 20% bigger, while the device is almost the same size as before.
It would mean getting a 15.6'' screen on the 13 sized Macbook.

The screen isn’t that much an upgrade and this is me comparing to the old s6. But I guess these are the things you tell yourself to reassure you made the right decision ha

So - Series 6 owners, is the Series 7 worth the upgrade? Is the screen difference noticeable?

The Modular Duo face is nice. Stock apps are noticeable. I believe Carrot has been updated for the Series 7 (and there may be more I am not not yet aware of). If you mainly use third party apps, you won't really see a difference until the apps have been updated.

I have a Gold SS Series 6, and I never trade in my Silver SS Series 4. I am thinking about trading in the Series 4 to get a Green Series 7 Watch, non cellular, to have some variety. The increase in screen size is more meaningful that even Apple implied based on videos I am seeing.

up until the launch my take was "no new health sensors, no AW7 for me" - now I am not so sure anymore, so I will go and see it in person net week and then decide. Larger display and AOD would be great to have.

Agree with you and now tempted to upgrade from Series 6. My wife upgraded from Series 4 40mm and it is definitely worth it for her, but want to see the 45mm version. May just not go Titanium this time as I like the new dark green color, although have always had Titanium or SS.

slightly different for me, the size will be fine for me, no doubt. And I've decided that I will not trade in my S4 SBSS but keep it as backup, but need to see the different colors on Alu and want to see the SS graphite. Am I going to go Alu, which would mean I'll be getting the AW8 (I do not think that the alu will serve me more than a year given my "rough" usage of the watch) or go SS or Ti and keep it for 2-3 years?

Almost all „reviews“ (i.e. hot takes) that went on about „no new features“ missed one very important point: that the bigger display makes (almost) all existing features better and more useable. Point in case:
