Hi.

I sent my 2012 macbook air off for repair as it kept shutting down on bootup (eventually it would stabilise, but could take 10 attempts).

The company that diagnosed it said that they believe they could repair the motherboard. Today they have emailed to say they are unable to repair it as they thought and that the inboard memory (RAM) is bad. They have said to replace the board and quoted £430.

Does this sound about right?

Think I would rather buy a new model than pay that.

It doesn't sound too bad for a logic board to me but that's nearly half the price of a brand new base model M1 MacBook Air.
