Motion Keyframing Trouble

I am trying to animate in object in motion by adding keyframes. When I try to animate the object selected in the attached screenshots Motion makes a keyframe to the left of where I made the keyframe. When I try to animate the object it won't let me. Has this happened to anyone else?
If so any suggestions?

What do you mean with; left from keynote, do you mean the point that is being changed is left, or in the timeline left.

And where are the screenshots. It might help me to find a solution.
