It feels much snappier to me!
I also don't seem to be having those random disconnects I was having for a while there. Very impressed!

Well, I think it is so awesome that Motorola is slower than **** with updates now that they are owned by Lenovo. Moto 360 is the last to get the Android Wear 5.1.1 update (which I still haven't received on mine.) The 2014 Moto X Pure Edition (no carrier branded version) has yet to get the 5.1 update (which the 2013 Moto X has now started receiving and apparently the Verizon carrier branded version is already in a soak test). Yep, so glad I went with the 2014 retail flagship Moto X to get the promised quick updates.

In case it was missed, this is all sarcasm. Motorola has lost my business for good. I knew Lenovo would screw everything up that was good about Motorola when it was owned by Google.

After reading through this whole thread I decided to pull the trigger and get the moto 360 in champagne. Can't beat the price at $149.99. I should have it tomorrow!

Here's a photo of the rumored new 360. Adding lugs is a much needed improvement but the bands still feel inconsequential to me, almost like they're too skinny for that big hockey puck. If the display is going to be that large I think it needs wider bands.

Absolutely agree with this - looks strange and puts me off (although I won't consider a 360 until the flat tyre goes).

Is it possible to have ambient light sensor without the flat tire on a circular watch display? To me the flat tire is inexcusable. But then I think this obsession with smart watches having to be round is silly.

It's definitely an engineering challenge but as long as they keep surrendering and choosing the 'oh well, let's just have a black void on the face' option, I'm not interested.

The time and date has gone wanky. Did a number of restarts, reinstalled android wear a few times, unpaired bluetooth a few times and re-paired and also a factory reset and no luck.

The wasted Moto flat spot doesn't bother most people who own one, any more than the wasted black bezel sections on the Apple watch on all sides bother most of their owners.

I do like the fully round ones slightly better because sometimes I want a face that has some info down there.

That's only because Apple didn't do one :)

We all know, that if every other maker had stuck with a 1980s style rectangle flick-to-turn-on display, and Apple had instead been the sole maker to do an always-on round display, people would be singing the praises of how innovative Apple was.

And when Apple does make a round display smart watch (kinda like how they 'never' were going to make a bigger phablet sized iphone) we will just pretend that we didn't hate it before and will think it is the bees knees.

So how is everyone liking Wear 1.3?

So if someone is shopping for a round Android Wear which one is best? LG Urbane,Huawei Watch and Moto 360 all look quite similar.

Does anyone know of the materials used on the new Moto 360? Is the back still plastic? And are they still using gorilla glass or did they switch to saphire?

I see Moto Maker for the new 360. Customize case colors, default watchface, etc.

(I used Moto Maker to create my Moto X smartphone with bamboo case, "Darling" logo, and "Hello Darling" startup screen.)

They also now have a "Woman's Edition" which is slightly smaller at 42mm vs 46mm, but probably not small enough still for many people.

The back is still plastic as it still supports wireless charging and wireless charging wouldn't work with metal. MKBHD has a video on the new 360 where he shows the back and it looks nearly the same as the previous generation device.

Sapphire is nearly impossible to have at this low of a price point even with regular wrist watches let alone smart watches.

Still the "flat tire" exists on such a beautiful looking device. Sad.

I loved my moto 360 but that was my biggest annoyance with it. This time the addition of moto maker adding more customization is very nice with the bezel and other items.

Interesting to see battery life with the "bigger" model.

Well, the apple watch has a saphire back for wireless charging. And the Huawei watch has a saphire screen, at a higher resolution, for $50 more than the Moto 360. I loved my 1st get 360, but after a couple of months the screen was all stretched up and the back had 4 cracks. Will probably wait out this gen of android wear, as they still don't have speakers and are still using last year's snapdragon 400 along with 4gb storage.

As nice as the cases of these mildly revised versions look, the 'flat tire' is such a glaring put off I don't think I could ever choose this watch. And with the 'Ambient' always on mode, is the existence of the ambient light sensor in that section of the display even necessary?

Such a shame because having an ambient light sensor is supposed to improve battery performance but from all indications, the 360 is no better off than any of its chief competitors, none of which suffer from having such a terrible compromise on their display. If I was in the market for an Android Wear smartwatch, I'd almost certainly choose the Huawei over the 360.

Also, while it's nice to see Moto making an effort to catering to women with their designs, I'd say they're do so in name only as the 'woman's' model is still huge. I watched the hands on video over at Android Central and the version the woman was wear was gigantic on her wrist. My wife is no petite woman (nearly 5'9'' with decent sized wrists) and she'd never wear that--showed it too her and she said it was way to big and chunky.

I think the Huawei Watch will take sales off Moto this year.

Last year they had the round face and style to themselves so could get away with the flat tyre. Things have changed but they've stuck with the same design which I think is a mistake.

HW does round, slim bezel, nice appearance without a black void front and centre for not much more money.
