What's the Honor 5X? Is it a good phone?

I'll post my impressions in the Honor 5X thread when it comes later this week. It's supposed to be a pretty good smartphone for its value. That's the consensus at its default price of $199.

Prime Day is selling it for $120. At that price point -- metal build, fingerprint, good 5.5" screen, reliable battery life, decent performance and camera -- the value is even better.

We'll see when they arrive...!

No Gyroscope though... is it better than the Moto G4?

Undoubtedly, the Honor 5X is the best budget smartphone out right now. It is going for $119 right now on Amazon.

I've had:

ZenPhone 2
Idol 3
Honor 5X
Moto G4
Blu Hd (Waiting on this one)

A probably a few more ones that I can't think of right now. I am going to return my Moto G4.

Why is Honor 5X better than G4?

I played with a g4 tonight. I found it mediocre. And something about that power button, like it doesn't have enough return-click; it sort of sticks. Maybe a bad unit?

Software was so bland, then you had the bland hardware design over the bland software... the device just felt like a $200 dollar device.

The camera was crap.

SERIOUSLY, is there no way to turn off the vibration function of the moto x whenever you tap the home, back, or app switcher buttons??

And where is the battery percentage? I updated to marshmallow. Does stock still not have this function?

(Stock is so overrated, in my opinion.)

None of that vibration stuff has anything to do with "stock". Funny you like customization but find it overrated when something starts bare bones and allows you to add features that fit your needs.

What is overrated is a bunch of bloaty crap that can't be disabled, looks awful, isn't optimized, and causes the phone to lag.

If you don't like something about "stock" then change it.

What phone are you describing there? Cause my s7 edge sounds nothing like that.

But seriously, relax. Stock is fine. Just a bit bare bones for my tastes. I get it's a blank canvas to customize, but I can customize just as well and still have the useful TW features. Nothing wrong with liking either. As I said, bare bones is great for my parents.

For battery percentage:

Pull the drop down menu and hold down the little tool menu button (it looks like a wheel) for a few seconds until it says system UI tuner has been added. Then go to settings and scroll down to the bottom and you'll see it.

It will look like this.

For the vibration, go to settings, sound and notification, other sounds, and you'll see vibrate on touch (uncheck it). It looks like this.
