Im utterly ignorant of Android i want a Moto X with a complete vanilla pure android rom is it possible and how would I do it.I need it on a for dummies level though 😀
Are you stuck wanting a moto X because if your new to Android and don't want hassles the Nexus 5 is pretty much the best way to go.
Otherwise prepare for a lot of reading up on XDA and prepare to get your feet wet and potentially brick your phone.
As someone who learned by jumping into the fire this year myself - there is nothing that is 'simple' for a newbie tbh and if Stock Android is what you really want - go for a nexus device.
If you stick a stock rom on Moto X and lose all it's customised features - then what is the point in buying the moto X and losing your warranty in the process ?
I like the Moto X hardware wise, what features would I lose on the MotoX if I rom'd it?.Im either going iP5S,MotoX,N5 just cant decide.I wanted to maybe install Cyanogen but im not sure.I've rooted a few android phones for friends but it was always such a damn hassle for me

I'm pretty sure that besides the Nexus line the Moto X is pretty much the closest to stock Android you can get. Sure, it has some extra stuff but it's nothing like what HTC does with Sense, or Samsung does with TouchWiz.

OP, moto X is a sweet phone.. pick it up and use it as is. Just like Van android but with a few extra useful features, i mean google did make the phone after all.

The Moto X is pretty much a stock Android experience. Anything they have added is pretty much a feature (See Notification system) and as far as I know there is no skinning at all.

I can get a Nexus im on AT&T I just like the aesthetics of the Moto X better the polycarbonate material bothers my skin otherwise I'd grab a Nexus 5,well that and im a little nervous of learning a new OS like Android
