I picked up an original Moto Z Play unlocked for $399 from Best Buy a little over a year ago. The phone is best known for its insane battery life and near stock Android. Moto's version of Android is damn near identical to Google's that you get on a Pixel. Moto gestures are very nice.

The original Z Play is going for $2XX on swappa. As a backup or second phone, I can't recommend it more. I spent all day in bed on my Z Play yesterday sick as a dog. The pics speak for themselves. If only an iPhone offered this kind of stamina.

Thanks for sharing about your phone. I've never looked too closely at them before. I hope you are feeling better today.

The Z Play is awesome and does indeed have amazing battery life, you can get them sub 200. The Blade V8 Pro has pretty much the same specs and gets amazing battery life as well and can be had sub 150. It is routine to get 8-10 hours screen on time on those phones

I have both of these smartphones, why do I feel you folks aren't surprised.

If you aren't fussed about having the latest high DPI screen there are lots of Android phones that do 80% of what a flagship model does, but for less than half the money. However the big compromise is camera image quality which is a downer if you capture memories or your kids or love travelling.

Great to know that the Moto Z Play excel in battery life which is an area that flagship phones don't champion because of obvious reasons.
