Doesnt really have anything to do with it because you can delete that stuff. I do hate the crapware though.

I dont know what Blur is since i havent owned a Motorola phone since this one

Not true... Samsung's crapware on their Verizon phones cannot be deleted by the average user. The Verizon stuff is locked down tighter than a drum.
You need to do some heavy mods to get that crap to go away.

At least AT&T let's you remove every piece of their software from the Atrix. No hacks required to do it either.
You can debrand the whole phone with very little work.

MotoBlur on the other hand cannot be removed without bricking the phone.
It's baked into the phone at the system level, not overlayed.
The best you can do is freeze some of the services to keep them from running.

I know some guys that have Verizon and they rooted their phone and deleted the crapware on their Samsung Fasicinate. Maybe Samsung just makes it easier to do than others. I have heard that Mororola is harder to root but i dont know first hand since i dont buy their phones.

What is Motoblur anyways? Same thing as Touchwhiz on the Samsung Galaxy S phones? You can delete Touchwhiz on the Samsung Galaxy S phones.
Think id just not buy a Motorola phone if your stuck with whatever Blur is.

Motorola is actively blocking all know rooting methods with each software update. Similar to how Apple blocks Jailbreaking with each update.
There are ways of retaining root if you do OTA updates, but if you are forced to flash to a factory image you will have a much harder time doing it.
The leaked Gingerbread update for the Atrix cannot be rooted by any known methods. Even Gingerbreak which is supposed to be able to root any Gingerbread device doesn't work on the new Atrix update.

MotoBlur is similar to TouchWiz and Sense in that it overlays Android, but it's integrated more deeply. It's part UI and part OS.
The UI parts can be removed for the most part, but the OS integration portions cannot.
There are system level services that simply cannot be removed without soft bricking the phone. You can recover from it if you have RSD Lite and a factory sbf (ROM) provided you didn't kill ADB in the process.

One good thing motorola is good as is call quality. My droid is significantly better than my wife's iphone 4 in call quality and not dropping calls. I wish I could say the same for the smart part of the phone.

do you have a link to that article about that.

I am not sure going to gingerbread is worth giving up my root. I had not heard that one yet.
