Smart move, but tricky to implement. I doubt most app data would transfer perfectly without user intervention. It really just depends on how the apps are designed.

I tried switching, and now I'm happily back, and it wasn't because of missing iCloud synch. They still need to solve photo and iTunes music synch, device backups that are thorough and reliable, and lots of usability issue with Android.

There are plenty of of apps on android to sync music with itunes. For photos you can use G+ and or google drive or drop box. These services are also web based so you can get to your pics on any type of device unlike iPhoto.

Usability on Android takes some getting used to but once you do there are a lot more fuctions and options on Android than ios. For the most part I still find ios easier to use but Android has more features and does somethings better than ios, notifications probably the most notable.

iOs is the king of app library though so if you have an app you really like on iOs that isn't available for android (yet) its a pretty big buzz kill.

This is really nice actually, if only google made an app for your phone that could sync everything with iCloud. I like to have my notes in sync etc and Apples solution I prefer over more complicated apps like evernote

yeah whats up with notes being some weird sync requirement anyway. An icloud email for notes? weird.

Nice try. Whats next? Some competitor will offer me a rebate for my iPhone or iPad if I switch... oh wait...

That isn't what I was saying at all.

I was saying that the service Motorola/Google is offering may not be something people on these forums are interested but is probably something the average phone user IS interested in because it gives them piece of mind via a seamless process.

Oh no sorry I wasn't talking about you. I was agreeing with your post.

This would've been very useful for me. But im afraid Motorola has missed a massive worldwide sale with the Moto x. I was about to change phone and give android another chance with the Moto X, but they decided to only give it a North America release, with no hint of a worldwide one. In the end i went with the 5s, and im sure a lot of people have also got bored waiting. If they were serious about making a comeback, they've missed it.

When they make it iTunes compatible, then I *might* take a look. Until then they can continue to hope.

I have too much invested in iTunes music to switch to another platform.
Dont let that stop you. Download Google Play on your puter. It will upload all of your iTunes music. Install Google Play on your Android device and bam! There it is.

Apple probably wouldn't allow it. And might put the kibosh on this transfer thing

Mega breach of Security

So basically, Google is asking for your Apple ID and Password, this is the biggest breach of security recently.

So, afterwards they can log in with your credentials, see your purchases, the apps and the other online content that you purchased or downloaded and add your choices to Google analytics so they can sent you advertising.

Also I'm not sure that this share of Apple ID's and Passwords, comply with Apple ID's terms and conditions, since it's a third party accessing iCloud servers on your behalf

Not sure if this will be resolved in court

Also this will be a delicious for crackers and webpage phishing, for those who don't look for URL or check the SSL certificate...

I switched to Android and my entire iTunes library is now online with Google Music. Flawless, can stream it from anywhere, 120 GB of songs to choose from.

I exported my iCal to Google Calendar. Flawless. Then I subscribed to my Google calendar in iCal, and it's all synced up, on my Mac laptop and Mac desktop, with my phone. Flawless.

Not of all of us Mac users are slavishly devoted to buying only things with an Apple logo on them. Interoperability is a good thing, not a bad thing. If you're all for Apple blocking these efforts, you are working against your own self-interests. Which makes you a moron.
