Motorola SLVR + iTunes

My friend's got Motoeola SLVR phone, but there's no iTunes there, does he need to download it separately? 😕 I thought the phone comes with iTunes standard!

There is more than one SLVR model. For example, SLVR L7 has iTunes, but L6 doesn't.

iTunes does not come with the phone itself unless you get it through Cingular Wireless in the US. The deal to put iTunes on Motorola phones is not with Motorola, but Cingular.

As we dont live in US, there's no Cingular here 😉

Yeah, I saw that you don't live in the US.

As far as I know, there is no place you can download iTunes for the SLVR. Hopefully, in the future, iTunes will be available on phones throughout the rest of the world.

iTunes is available on phones around the world. The ROKR here has iTunes no matter which carrier you chose, as does the V3i and the SLVR. I swear I saw a place to download iTunes to your SLVR somewhere on the Moto website but the site is such a labyrinth I can't find it now.

Slvr/rokr

both the slvr and the rokr have itunes set up to the phone.
there is a specific button for it.

but there are 2 models of the slvr.
one with itunes
and one without

the one without it is silver
and the ones with it are pink and black.

but the phone should initially have the itunes on it.

He has something in his L7 that partly looks like iPod interface (same sorting by playlist/artist/album/etc and same icons like Shuffle songs and repeat) but the design is totally different from iPod's one... 😕

SLVR L7 (unlocked)

I have an unlocked L7 which doesn't have iTunes because iTunes is installed on Cingular phones only (as far as I know). I would be interested in any other real info on a downloadable version is there are any out there. I would like to sync using iTunes and create playlists etc. Right now I can use iSync for the callendars and phonebook, but I have to drag and drop .m4a files, which are unlocked. I tried converting my purchased iTunes music which is in .m4p file format, but by just renaming it, seems to simply corrupt, not convert. So, there are a few bugs with this process.

Any suggestions?

Check out http://www.howardforums.com, go to the motorola sub-forum (site seems to be down at the moment). It's a HUGE mobile phone enthusiast message board, so you should be able to find good info there. You might have to end up flashing your phone with a different software version though (not for the faint of heart).

Hi, I have the same unlock SLVR V7 black w/o iTunes. However, i cannot get it to sync with my iSync. Could you let some light in on how did you set up the phone to sync with iCal and Address Book ? Thank you so much !
