Mountain Lion Mail Stutter Fix?

I got a base Macbook Pro Retina and recently did a clean install of Mountain Lion. Everything is much smoother except for Mail. Anyone know a fix for Mail scrolling s-s-s-t-t-utttering? It would be nice to have Mail run as smooth as Safari. Thanks!

If you think Mail is bad, try Outlook 2011.

It will literally crash if you try to scroll too fast.
