Am I the only person that has noticed this... OS X 10.8 did not come with a picture of a Mountain Lion in the preloaded desktop backgrounds. Unless I am just not seeing it. I know it is petty and in all reality, a non-issue; but I always looked forward to the new big cat picture with each new OS release :(

    It does:

    • right click on the desktop
    • select change background
    • select Nature
    • move to the 3rd row from the left and 5 down (its next to the Snow Leopard picture)

    Ugliest Mountain Lion ever

Hasn't anyone noticed that the 10.8 logo is the ugliest cat possible? I have several photos of mountain lions taken at zoos, and they're all much better than this logo. Has everyone at AAPL fallen asleep since Steve left the shop?

Mine shows the snow leopard picture, but a coworker gets the lion on his Mac. Weird.

EDIT: My coworker's desktop pictures are organized differently too.

This is how my window is laid out. The Lion wallpaper remains. No mountain lion. :(

Mine doesn't have all the categories that used to be there, just "desktop pictures" and "solid colors."

    ----------

    Exactly how mine looks.

I agree with the OP they should've came out with a mountain lion wallpaper for the new os. They did it for leopard, snow leopard and lion. Weird how they would leave out Mountain Lion.

anyone good with photoshop able to make a cool/apple style type mountain lion wallpaper? :D

Those nature etc folders came in Snow leopard... so if you upgraded (instead of clean installing) they are still on your HD. However, if you did a clean install, the images and those folders won't be there because they are left over from SL.

Honestly, I'm not going to complain. I was never a big fan of the cats :-D. I do prefer more images of landscapes - personal bias of course
