Mountain Lion reminders don't show in notifications

I can't seem to get reminders ( untimed or timed ) to show up in the notifications centre. I have configured iCloud to sync and they do show up in the calendar app but not in the notifications sidebar. I have set them to show as banners or alerts but neither way works.

Solved

I figured it out. I had neglected to turn on Calendars/Reminders sync in the iCloud settings on the Mac.
( I use Google for mail and calendars and didn't think I needed it enabled for iCloud )
