    Hey guys,
Just bought my first mac today. It's a 2.8Ghz macbook pro 15"
This is the "problem" I'm having:
I connected an external mouse (logitech) to my computer, and went into system preferences and set tracking speed to max. The response I get from the mouse is still a bit slow for my liking in Mac OS X. Also the really annoying bit is that when I move my external mouse slowly, the tracking is extremely slow.

When I boot into windows 7 (via bootcamp), the tracking is just perfect.
I guess external mouse tracking in Mac OS X is not "windows like"?? Is there a way to fix this?

Have you tried going to the Logitech website and look for Mac OS X software?

thanks guys.. that helped. I installed the logitech drivers from their website and adjusted a few settings!

but I wonder if I will have to do the same if I use a mouse from another manufacturer...

I know this is an ancient thread, but I just have to weigh in that I use Macs and PC equally and have decided, definitively, that PCs mouse tracking is just plain "smoother" period. Any mouse, any driver.

I've tried my Logitech drivers & SteerMouse on my Mac Pro with numerous mice and no mouse or settings can replicate the same smooth tracking I get in Windows with the cheapest mouse at stock settings.

I *love* my Mac but PCs simply win the mouse tracking experience war, hands down.
