mouse trackpad & keyboard not working

Hi

After restarting my macbook pro 13 10.6.8, the trackpad, mouse and keyboard did not seem to work after the login window. I do not recall making any software updates.

I restarted and then they simply worked. It happened a few times and I had to restart. In some cases I had to restart atleast 3-5 times.

Why does this happen? How do I fix this?
