How and when does the watch suggest a new Move goal?

I've read "on Monday," but even though I can see my full weekly summary, I don't see anything about a new Move goal.

Every day last week I quadrupled the current goal, so I'd expect that to be enough to trigger something.

Nothing there.

For me it's at the bottom of the weekly summary notification that pops up on Monday mornings. Is it possible you have the notification turned off?
I have Allow Notifications in the Activity app section of the My Watch app on my phone.

You can always force touch the activity rings within Activity on the watch, and then choose to change your move goal, rather than waiting for the watch to suggest a change.
I can do that with my Fitbit.

I specifically want to follow the Watch's suggestions to see what it does.

Have you been getting the notification for weekly summary on Mondays?

I think the notification in question is "Daily Coaching". I no longer get suggested weekly move goals because I have that off. (No longer get weekly summary as well).

No.

This is only the second Monday I've owned the watch. I figured I didn't get a new goal because I only had it over the weekend for the first Monday.

Daily Coaching is on. Everything is on for Activity.

I just tripled my old goal and will see what I can find out before next Monday.

Thanks for the info, all.

DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!!!
KEEP IT BELOW 200 AND MEET THE GOAL EVERYDAY!!!
DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!!!

Good news... I got a new Move goal today, as I was hoping.

Bad news... my watch has very grandiose ideas about my movement.

LOL, that is good news! The watch won’t recommend increasing your goal by more than 10%, but it won’t stop either. Pick the caloric goal you want and stick with it.

My goal went from 400 to 1460.

I picked 400 during setup, so maybe it won't increase by more than 10% over something it chose, but laughed with derision at my attempt to extend the time before it suggested something I couldn't do.

I know it can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until I am dead. But I wanted to beat the 10 weeks of the guy in the article I read about it. If it throttles down to 10%, maybe I still can.

Haha, I love this post. 400 to 1460 ☠️☠️ Geez! I stand corrected. I hadn’t seen or heard of an increase of more than 10% week to week.

I started out two years ago at 600 and I’ve not adjusted it.

I’ve found that 600 is a sweet spot for me so that I need to intentionally get up and move around in order to make my goal every day, but I’m usually at 200% at the end of days I work out.

I want it at a level that keeps me active through the day, but I don’t want to wear myself out working out every day and having goals set too high.

I'm hoping for 10% or less now that it's working off goals it set. I'll try to meet the goal each day while going over as little as feasible.

I already have two weeks done, but to make it to 11 weeks at 10%, I'll have to do a little over 3400 a day that 11th week. Compounding is pretty sweet with investments, not so sweet with Move calories. Plus, if I don’t eat more and my weight comes down, the calories will be even harder to come by.

Maybe it won’t go the full 10% at some point.

Sounds like it's time for an army crawl through a hydraulic press.
