I've been told in the past to move my home folder off my main drive, what is the consensus among everyone? I am using Mavericks. Is this idea of relocating the home folder off the main drive because of a size issue?

Also, what about partitioning a main drive for the purpose of putting the home folder on the second partition? :)

Size/Space & speed used to be the concerns.

Personally, I wouldn't bother unless you are having space issues. Now I do admit to resetting my iTunes library within iTunes directly onto another drive, but I did that to address future growth [HD movies chew up a fair amount of space, so I have a 3TB HDD for that].

What are you running on [Model/Make]? and what do you intend to do with it? That would help give recommendations from people here.
