Is there anyway to move the Drive folder to another drive. My MacBook Pro has a 120GB SSD and a 2TB hard drive and would like the iCloud folder on the 2TB as space is not a premium on that.

Is it still impossible to relocate the iCloud Drive folder to another disk?

Your iCloud files will be removed from your Mac if your disk space becomes low. You'll be able to download it again when you want.

Thanks but that's not what I mean. I'm trying to discover if I can move the iCloud folder from its default location to another disk - ie an external disk, and if it will still function from there just like you can relocate a Dropbox folder.

The iCloud Drive folder is actually inside your library folder and the only way to move it AFAIK is to relocate your entire home folder to the external drive

    Thanks Phil.

That's a shame. I really want to utilise that 50gb I'm paying for but can't on my small SSD boot drive.

It is pretty frustrating and not very versatile.

OP could create their Mac into a fusion drive if it is an internal 2TB HDD.
otherwise, one option is to create an external bootable OS with a sizable HDD, with iCloud Drive enabled and dump everything there, as that will be your main reference point, thus your smaller capacity devices should still be able to access the files and add to them as needed.
