I am trying to move my Keychain from my old Mac with SNow Leopard on it, to my new Mac with Lion on it. I want to just move the Keychain, I would rather not do an entire migration of the old user from my old computer. Does anyone know how to move the Keychain to the new machine?

Just copy the login.keychain file from /Users/Username/Library/Keychains to the same folder on the new machine.

Username will be whatever you named your account.

What exactly is not working? I have done this before.

Just copy the old keychain file over top of the new one (replace after backing up) and logout then back in.

Oh. I didn't logout and log back in. I did overwrite it, and then it showed nothing at all in my keychain. And now if I try to add anything it gives me an error message. I will try to log out and back in and left you know how it goes.

Thank you!
