I was recently having a ton of trouble with iCloud Drive on my Macbook Pro laptop, and was instructed to move all of the Desktop / Documents contents to my Desktop to store them locally, but they will not go back into the iCloud Drive now, and I am out 200gb of hard drive space.... :(
I must admit, I do not have a keen understanding of what exactly the iCloud Drive does, but it seemed to provide me with a lot more hard drive space available, for the same files / folders, and after disabling it, and making a local copy of all of my files / folders, they added up to over 200gb more space being used. So, I decided to turn the iCloud Drive back on, thinking that it would correct this over-inflation of hard drive space being used, but the specified files / folders never went back into the iCloud Drive, and I am starting to think the thing is just another worthless bell / whistle that Apple has uselessly included in their OS.
Is there some form of delay before the iCloud Drive kicks in, or am I missing something here??
Somebody PLEASE clarify this for me, and Thanks in advance!! ;)

My 1st reaction to your whistles, is that I hope you have backup to both your MBP and your iCloud on some other external disk. So you don’t lose any data if iCloud is messing with you.
Delays can happen. iCloud in general, drive and other functions, have not been the most stable thing in Apple recently. So always be sure that you have your data securely backuped a couple of times on external disks.
You should probably placed your questions in this forum, for more responses. https://forums.macrumors.com/forums/apple-music-apple-pay-icloud-apple-services.134/
