After moving from iPhone 12 to 16 I now find all my photos taken on iPhone 16 are "too bright". Don't know how to properly phrase this, but the colours are too lush and the bright parts of the picture are way too bright (like the sky). I also notice this when viewing the images on my MBP 16 (M3) where I see the screen brightness automatically increasing when I view photos taken with the iPhone 16 in the Photos app.
On the phone, "Photographic Styles" is set to "Standard" and in Camera Tone=0 and Exposure=0 - the other gazillion settings I don't know how to find out...
Anything I can do to prevent this?

Edit: True Tone is off on the MBP

That sounds like HDR. Have you tried toggling it off?

Edit: Nevermind, disabling HDR is no longer supported on iPhone 13 or later. The iPhone 12 was the last phone to allow this.

Instead try going to Settings > Apps > Photos and turn off "View Full HDR" to see if that helps.

Fantastic! Disabling that worked. Also found the setting in macOS Photos app. Thanks!

I'm having the opposite problem since upgrading. When I had my 15 Plus all my pics looked great. Since getting a 16 Pro many of my pics are coming out dark, even pics that I take in a bright room come out dark. I tried changing the setting listed about (Settings > Apps > Photos and turn off "View Full HDR") and it did not help at all. I use all default camera settings.
