    Hey all,

Can someone suggest best overall Handbrake settings? Ideally, I'd like the movie to look good and be playable on all devices (TV, Mac, iPhone etc.). It seems with some movies, iTunes tells me that my movie can't be copied to iPhone because the filetype isn't playable on iPhone.

Currently, I'm using the "Normal"preset and changing the bitrate to 1,800 kbps (as suggested by a friend). Does anyone know if there is a limitation in what the iPhone can play according to my settings? Can someone suggest ideal settings for my situation (I'd like to keep feature films to 3GB or less; I don't care how long it takes to rip). Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm including a screenshot of Handbrake so you can see what I've got going on.

I stopped using Handbrake because it's painfully slow. I switched to Roxio Crunch and it compresses them MUCH MUCH faster. Plus Crunch has an iphone setting so all I do is select it and it does its thing. The movies look great on my iphone. I had a problem with sound syncing when I used handbrake between 44.1 and 48 khz but no problems yet on Crunch.

why not use the AppleTV setting?

I gave up on multi-device playback since I only have a 4GB iPhone. I've started ripping my movies using the iPhone setting then changing bitrate to about 700. The quality is still good on the phone, and I am able to get 2 movies in the space I could previously only get 1.

When I get an AppleTV, I guess I'll have to rerip everything.

I'll look into Crunch. Thanks for the tip, HandBrake is PAINFULLY slow!
