Moving apps to SSD

I will be replacing the HDD in my 2010 mbp with an SSD and putting the old HDD in the optibay.

My question is: how can I get all my apps from the HDD onto the SSD?

I don't want to have to reinstall them all if possible, also I would not be able to reinstall things like Office since I don't have the original box/product key any longer.

Use CarbonCopyCloner (version 3.4.7 is still free) or SuperDuper! to clone the HDD to the SSD, though you can deselect what not to clone from your user folder.

If I only want my OS and applications cloned (since I can manually move files I want later), what exactly do I need to select?

I am mainly concerned with keeping my app licenses.

Of all the apps I cloned over, Office was the only one that asked for a product key when I opened Word for the first time. Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom did not.
