Hi there

I recently sold my 11" MBA and bought a rMB when I was visiting the US (BB $999), and whilst I love the screen, after 2 months I am still struggling to get used to the keyboard, and taken together with the other compromises I am now thinking about selling it and buying a new MBA 11".

I just wondered if anybody else had made the switch back? My only concern is getting used to the MBA screen (again....).
Thanks
Tim

Yes I did, with a 13" though. No doubts about it, I kept the rMB for a week only, good idea to switch back.

Thanks for posting this. I thought, today, I needed to replace my 2011 MBA. I was going to consider the rMB, but thought, if ever I need to replace my MBA, it wold be for another MBA. It turns out my MBA is fine. I'm waiting for the new redesign MBA. Do you think one will get released or should I purchase a 2016 MBA?

1) There is no "2016 MBA" ! Latest MBA models are the Early 2015 with the 5th gen Broadwell processors.
2) The 2013 onwards MBAs saw improved battery life and speed compared to your 2011. Well worth upgrading to a refurb 2013 or later.
3) Any 2016 MBA, if there will be one, will probably include the new keyboard found on the rMB and new iMacs. http://www.gottabemobile.com/2015/10/15/why-you-shouldnt-buy-the-new-apple-keyboard/
4) Rumours are strong that all the "Airs" (iPads, MBAs) will be discontinued. So if you don't like the new rMB, don't hold your breath for a new MBA "redesign". The rMB 12" is it, probably be offered in a 14" down the road, but Apple appears to be done with the "older" designs.

Screen beauty isn't everything. Along the lines of the OP, I recently bought a refurb 2013 13" MBA to run Mavericks and I couldn't be happier. That's after trying a rMBP 13" for 2 weeks and returning it.
For at home I've added a 27" IPS monitor and that's what I work on most of the time. For the times I travel, the non-retina of the Air isn't an issue for me.

I bet there's a few ebayers hoarding new MBAs for premium resale right before WWDC, if Apple pulls the same move as they did with the 2014 MacMini.
