so, we have an old iMac, g3, usb 1, no firewire. it has OS 9.2 installed. I am not at all familiar with 9.2, how do i transfer the files from this old computer to the brand new imac?
    thanks!

You could use ethernet, just a direct cable to each. Other option would be a flash drive. Dirt cheap, less than $50, and uses USB.

Use Disk Utility in the Applications Folder to see if the drive will show up. The drive may be limited to prevent use on USB 1.1, or it may need more power than your USB may supply.

Your best bet is to use the Ethernet cable to connect the two computers together.
