I'm considering a move to the XS. I'm used to a 6S Plus. For those who have moved from plus devices to there X or XS, how much smaller did the screen feel to you, was it a big difference?

ok mate, but you are wrong. I can read the dimensions, but I know for a fact the XS screen is narrower. so I'll ask my question again.... anyone else who actually has real experience this time please.

Haha you’re so silly. I went from a 7 plus to the X and now I have the XS but since you’re looking for REAL experience I guess I can’t give you that. Don’t be an ass next time when you’re asking for help.

I contemplated getting the X last year coming from a 7+. I used friend’s X and even used them in store. Didn’t like it. It’s basically the same as viewing content on a non-plus size phone. I know I wouldn’t be happy with a X or Xs so this year it will be a Max.

don't reply like an ass in the first place. answer the question informatively rather than as an ass.

I had a look at the Max, I think that's too big, even for me who is a plus user - had enough of not having a jeans or jacket pocket that will fit my phone. on paper the X/XS is a larger screen, except when it's not.

I wasn’t. I told you the screen sizes, and you replied like that. Anyway good luck

I went from 8 plus to X, I really like the smaller form factor of the X. It takes a little getting used to but I've adapeded. The screen is a little longer and a little narrowed than the 8 plus. The keyboard is a little wonky too but not a deal breaker.

Came from 6s+ to xs

Getting used to it

Sonce i replace my iphone every 2 years, the battery is not a big deal

I upgraded from the 7+ to the X last year and I adjusted within a few days. Almost a year later and I don’t feel like the screen is too small. The keyboard also don’t feel small to me. It could be because I have small hands. I will admit, I miss the screen size of the Plus phones and after playing around with a XS Max, that’s the phone I’ll be upgrading to next year.

Went from the 7+ to the X last year. The screen is definitely narrower, but I immediately got used to it. It was just an overall different experience going to the full screen design. I found it pretty immersive. This year I upgraded to the XS Max and contemplated going back to the X for a few week because that size just felt pretty right to me. Before that, I’ve had every plus sized phone available. Upgrading from a 6S+, you’re in for a huge treat!

Went from an 8+ to the XS because I felt that that the XSM was too tall to comfortably reach the top of the display and it was kinda heavy for my tastes. The keyboard took a little bit to get used to but overall I'm very happy. It doesn't feel small to me and it's much more pocketable. Being an OLED display, it looks better than the 8+ did when it's closer to my face so if I'm watching a movie or something I just move the phone closer if need be. The biggest downside is that my 8+ had better battery life for sure but the XS still gets me through the day.

I went to the xs, really have no desire to get the larger XS Max. The main difference to me though was YouTube videos. It’s smaller on the XS than on the plus.

Went from 6s+ to X. The phone itself is smaller and the screen is narrower. I didn't hate it, but I have XS Max now. Much better. I will likely keep this phone for a few years. Good luck.

I went from the 8+ to the XS then a week later I went on to the XS Max. The screen real estate on the XS is greater than the 8+ although the phone itself is smaller than the 8+. Either way you cant go wrong with the XS. I just went into the XS Max because I wanted the same feel of a big phone in my hand and the added 6.5inch screen make a world of difference.

I went from a 7+ to an X. Love having room in my pockets again! That said, I am contemplating an XR believe it or not, as I'd like a little more screen real estate without having to go all the way to the MS Max...

some people might say the 6/7/8+ Screens are smaller than the iPhone X/Xs but remember the ratios are different; 16:9 vs 18/18.5:9. So you gain some in length but lose some in width. This is what OP is asking about.

as far as i know, I have a xs max, have played with the XS in store a few times alongside my phone and as far as experience was concerned, there was no inherent difference to the XS max vs XS except more pixels and larger size, the content viewed on both were same (with the XS max just being "scaled up to size fit"), to be honest you will adapt to it very quickly...

I had a look at the Max said:
I agree with you, the size of the Plus/Max phones can be annoying to say the least, but after using that screen size, I can't see myself being happy using anything smaller.

if its a big difference I think that might sway me to an Xr, rather than the XS, but saying that, having had an Xr in my hands earlier the thickness of the bezel kind of brings the actual display size closer to the XS.

Went from the X to the Max then back to XS and then back to the Max and finally settled back on the XS. One handed usability and portability were the key deciding factors.

6S+ to X, yes its narrower but you quickly get used to it. The feel of the overall device is smaller too. But you don't miss out on screen content
