Has anybody else switch from a 14 pro to a 15 air because of the screen size? I don’t do anything intensive at all but have an m3 pro. My eyesight is not great, and I have been trying the larger air. It feels crazy to get a machine with a lesser quality screen for one inch extra.. but it really seems to make a difference.

I've gone back and forth from the Pro to the Air to the Pro to the Air, I've lost count. I solved the problem by having both and getting rid of my iPad. I really enjoy each machine for different reasons.

I went from a 13“ pro to a used m1 16“ cos of screen size. If u don’t travel much its the best screen apple offers in a MB.

Totally agree. I've upgraded from a 17 yr old 15" MBP matte display to a 16" M2 MBP...wow. Even that one inch is quite the difference.

Yes, I'm currently using a 15 inch M5 air 32gb/2tb still in it's return period. It's perfect for all my work, very fast, better keyboard IMO. Do miss the screen sharpness though.

Work = Normal email/slack/browser tabs. Claude Desktop, Codex, Docker (small on demand python scripts) git, airtable, Splashtop, Tailscale. Had to export a quick video for a colleague in premiere, I mean like less than a minute. Photoshop launches instantly. Even tried qwen 3.5 35b-a3b with the "write me a short story test" and it got 57tk/s.

Thanks, this is very useful. I have the air and pro now side by side. The Pro is much sharper, but the Air is more calming. I turned off Trueton,e which helped a lot. The screen is enormous and using Canva is a joy on the air. So far it is not feeling like a downgrade and the Pro may be sold!

And agree about the Keyboard - I love the black background to the keys (the pro looks amazing) but the keyboard on the air is more direct and less 'mushy'. As a writer, thats important to me.

I find the air keyboard mushy/softer and prefer it for that very reason because it's easier for me to type on with some recent hand pain / arthritis.
