I'm moving from a windows desktop to a macbook tomorrow. I want to dis-assosciate my iPod with all and everything Windows. What do I need to do to move it over to my new macbook? I only have one purchased song I care about, all other songs I plan to re-import into iTunes again at a higher bit rate.

So basically I want to 'format' by iPod, but I want to save one song and make sure it moves into my iTunes library on my macbook,

When you first plug the iPod into the Macbook, transfer its purchases.
It will transfer every purchased song on it. once you are logged into your iTunes account.

Once it is transferred, simply restore you iPod, and it will become Mac formatted.

This is exactly why I made 'the switch', so things can just easily work.

    Thanks for the quick response.

    might be missing a step...

i have successfully transferred my music off of my windows formatted ipod onto my new mac.

is the last step just to restore my ipod so it becomes mac formatted?
