Moving home folder

I have 160.5MB on my HD, an I have done everything I know how to do to free it up but still nothing!

I'm wondering, can I move the home folders to my external hardrives?

Do not mess with your home folder. It's like removing your windows system folder. OK?

It's safer to move the content rather than the entire home folder... like can you move your photos or videos or music out of your home folder to somewhere else?

Also you should use du from the command line or get an application that helps you analyze disk usage and see if you've lost space somewhere else. Here's an example:

I am downloading the app, I have emptied my home folder EXCEPT for the library

If you emptied your home folder and you've still got that little space... then there's something huge floating around somewhere on your drive. Some common culprits are that some programs like Handbrake, when they fail a rip, will accidentally leave a multi-gigabyte rip video file in a temp folder. So hopefully, a program like that one I linked you will help you find these.

For the formatting, I recommend Ativan, 0.5 mg. 😱

Okay, so I ran the app and this is what I found... I don't think I can delete most of these files...

Your missing a lot off that list. Can you post more screen shots? Have you ran programs like onyx and Yasu to get rid of temporary files and clean the system up a bit?

just curious, after terminal is done moving all the files, do I delete them off of my localdisk?
